Five times in the last ten years cases involving the disabled have been raised and in 2015, fifty Korean salt farm owners and regional job brokers were indicted on crimes involving modern day slavery. Despite the indictments, the production of South Korean salt and the treatment of those who produce it remains questionable. Southern Salt offers a glimpse into Korean salt production.
