Workshop: The Personal Narrative with Michael Ackerman | Main Location: Berlin | Official Website www.photoworkshopnewyork.com | Workshop Calendar from November 7 to November 9, 2014
[T]he Personal Narrative” is an intensive 3 day workshop with acclaimed photographer Michael Ackerman, which focuses on guiding students towards a “photography which is not about photography, or about style, or confined to a category but a photography that transcends. Photography as a revelation of what it means to be alive…”.
Throughout this workshop participants will work with Michael to shape a personal visual language through editing, brainstorming and reviewing other photographers images. He’ll also use his own work and process as a guide for students in developing their own unique method of production.
The participants will be asked to create a project in the weeks preceding the class, which will be critiqued and developed. This project can be on any subject, so long as it is something that the student is passionate about and that they feel they want to explore in depth. Students are also encouraged to bring their past work to discuss and review.
The workshop is part of the first European Tour of the educational program Photo Workshop NewYork.
